Role Summary:
The Automation Engineer L2 is responsible for planning, developing, managing, and maintaining all project activities related to Level-2 automation for ArcelorMittal and Jesco Jubail. The role includes monitoring progress and supporting the Section Head of Automation Projects and the Project Manager to ensure the timely execution of work by contractors and teams. The engineer also organizes and schedules activities and resources for the design department, develops new Level-2 programs, modifies existing ones, defines technical automation solutions, and designs and adapts new Level-2 features for AMTPJ and Jesco plant projects.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for engineering, planning, management, and follow-up of automation-related projects.

Execute projects and assist the Section Head of Automation Projects with feasibility studies for new initiatives.

Coordinate between various departments involved in the projects to ensure smooth execution and alignment across functions.

Support the project team in maintaining timely and effective change management processes, procedures, and systems; supervise contractor activities through the assigned team.

Monitor project progress and follow up on tasks to support adherence to planned schedules, aiming to minimize delays and control costs.

Organize and maintain all required electronic and paper documentation in an orderly and accessible manner.

Coordinate team tasks and logistics as directed by the Section Head of Automation Projects.
Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in project engineering, erection, installation, commissioning, and related roles.

Experience in the metallurgical or chemical industry is preferred.

Hands-on experience in Level-2 automation projects within the steel or pipe manufacturing industry.

Proficiency in PLC programming and Level-2 automation systems.

Strong background in project engineering, project/site execution, contract management, and technical documentation.

Familiarity with project management methodologies, standards, and techniques.

Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) or full-service project delivery models.
