ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Automation Integration Engineer will support the implementation, optimization, and day-to-day operation of distribution and automation systems across Skecher’s network. This role works across system and equipment integration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of material handling systems and warehouse software (WMS/WES/WCS). This role will partner with Operations, IT, and external vendors to identify issues, determine root cause, and drive resolution in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
This is a hands-on role supporting live operations, system enhancements, and new initiatives, with direct impact on throughput, system performance, and day-to-day execution.
Salary Range: 129k - 158k / year
Duties and Responsibilities
System & Equipment Integration

Support integration between WMS (Manhattan), WES, WCS, and material handling equipment (MHE)

Integrate material handling equipment (conveyors, sorters, put-to-light (PTL) systems, etc.) with warehouse control and software systems
-
Execute system testing, validation, and deployment of system changes and enhancements
-
Support equipment testing, system validation, and issue resolution during integration and go-live phases

Troubleshoot and analyze system behavior across WMS, WCS, and MHE to identify root causes and drive resolution

Work with engineering and operations teams to validate material flow, system logic, and physical process design

Partner with external vendors and internal teams to resolve system and equipment issues
Operations & Troubleshooting

Provide day-to-day engineering support for automated systems in live operations

Investigate and resolve system errors, flow issues, and data inconsistencies
-
Perform root cause analysis and support implementation solutions
-
Troubleshoot both system behavior and equipment performance in live operations
-
Work cross-functionally to drive issues through to resolution
Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve throughput, system reliability, and process efficiency

Implement process changes and system enhancements
-
Define and implement improvements across DC systems and processes

Participate in testing and rollout of new functionality
Project & Implementation Support

Support system implementations, expansions, and go-live activities
-
Assist with coordination between internal teams and external vendors
-
Help validate system configurations, workflows, and data flows during project phases
-
Provide on-site support during testing, commissioning, and ramp-up
Documentation & Training
-
Create and maintain SOPs, system documentation, and process flows
-
Support training of operations teams on system functionality and best practices
-
Ensure documentation reflects current system behavior and standards
Data & Reporting

Use data to analyze system performance and support decision-making
-
Develop reporting and dashboards to track system performance and accuracy
-
Track KPIs such as throughput, error rates, and system utilization
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Systems) or related field
-
2- 4 years of experience in distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or automation environments
-
Preferred experience with Manhattan WMS, Pyramid WCS, or similar platforms
-
Experience with material handling systems (conveyors, sorters, AS/RS, PTL, etc.)

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in live operational environments
-
Proficiency in Excel required; SQL or Power BI strongly preferred

Basic understanding of system integration and data flow concepts
-
Exposure to automation vendors such as KNAPP or Beumer
-
Experience supporting system go-lives or major implementations
-
Familiarity with AutoCAD or layout drawings
-
Up to 25% travel to support site implementations, testing, and operational support
