Automation Marine Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automation Engineer with a strong background in marine systems to support installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of automation and control systems onboard vessels. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with marine-based automation systems and a solid educational background in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Communication, or Mechatronics Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, test, and commission marine automation systems onboard vessels.
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of shipboard control and automation systems.
  • Work on systems including Boilers, Alarm Monitoring Systems (AMS), Fire Alarm Systems, Tank Gauging Systems, and related instrumentation.
  • Conduct calibration of sensors, transmitters, and instrumentation equipment.
  • Diagnose faults in PLC-based and control systems and ensure timely resolution.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance in compliance with marine safety standards.
  • Interpret technical drawings, manuals, and system schematics.
  • Coordinate with onboard crew, technical teams, and shore-based engineers for operational support.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities, reports, and service logs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Communication / Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in marine automation systems (shipboard environment preferred).

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Boiler automation systems
  • Alarm Monitoring Systems (AMS)
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Tank gauging systems
  • Instrument calibration and testing
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and marine control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings.
  • Familiarity with marine safety standards and vessel operations.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work onboard vessels as required.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in offshore/marine environments in UAE or international projects.
  • Exposure to multiple vessel types and marine automation brands/systems.

Other Requirements:

  • Physically fit for onboard and offshore duties.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and under operational timelines.
  • Valid certifications related to marine safety (if applicable) will be an advantage.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: From AED3,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
