Automotive apprentice Tour Bus Mechanic/Technician

Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as an Apprentice (Mid level)Tour Bus Mechanic and an all around technician. We train in house to do body and paint, fiberglass, plumbing, electrical, welding, fabrication and more. An apprentice tour bus mechanic works under the supervision of journey-level technicians. They are responsible for learning repair techniques, performing preventative maintenance, assisting with complex collisions, general shop tasks like tool maintenance, cleaning, and fabricating.

Duties

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
  • Conduct repairs on various vehicle components including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and powertrain systems.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections to maintain optimal performance.
  • Repair or replace critical parts like air brakes, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and auto body components with precision and attention to detail.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex automotive electrical systems and mechanical issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring vehicles meet safety standards before returning to the road.

Qualifications

  • Proven mechanic experience with a background in automotive repair across various makes and models.
  • Hands-on experience with brake repair, wheel alignment, suspension work, shocks & struts replacement, is helpful.
  • Mechanical knowledge of powertrain components, automotive electrical systems, and general vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
  • Certification in automotive technology or relevant training is preferred; ASE certification is a plus but not required.

Pay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour
