Automotive Buyer – Acquisition Specialist

We are hiring a serious automotive buyer to help us scale inventory intelligently.

This is not a volume-clicking role.

This is a margin-driven acquisition position.

Primary Focus

• Source vehicles directly from private sellers
• Work Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, etc.
• Proactively generate buying opportunities
• Negotiate directly with vehicle owners
• Evaluate mechanical, structural, and recon exposure
• Run MMR, book values, and local market comps
• Structure profitable purchases
• Coordinate transport or intake

Auctions may be used strategically, but private-party acquisition is the primary focus.

You are buying spread — not just units.

What We’re Looking For

• Automotive industry experience required
• Prior buying experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of popular vehicles in Alaska
• Understands which units move quickly vs. sit
• Knows common issues by make/model (engine failures, transmission issues, frame rust, CVTs, etc.)
• Can identify hidden recon exposure
• Understands front-end gross and exit strategy
• Self-managed and disciplined
• Competitive and performance-driven

Compensation

• Commission-only
• Paid per vehicle purchased
• Performance bonuses available
• Income directly tied to profitability and volume

$60,000+ realistic for consistent performers.

Because this is a commission-based role, full-time status is based on maintaining a minimum monthly purchasing average.
