ADAS of the South Plains is an automotive programming and calibration service. We offer customers mobile OEM level computer module programming, ADAS calibrations and light diagnostics. We strive to provide only the highest quality repair and diagnostic services to our customers eliminating the need to “Take it to the Dealer”.
We are looking for individuals that want to ditch the desk job and do something different and challenging. We’re a growing business and need self-driven individuals to join our team to help with that growth! If you’re interested in a position as a calibration technician, know that it is a detail-oriented job! But, if you’re up for the challenge, being a tech is a great way to hone your creative problem-solving skills. You don't have to know everything about cars to do this job, but some experience is preferred.
What you'll be doing
Vehicles are designed with new safety features known as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. These ADAS systems aid the driver in staying safe and alert while behind the wheel. After a collision, these systems are required to be calibrated to ensure they are working as the manufacturer intended. The calibrations require the technician to set up targets and mats to align the sensors and cameras. Check out this link to see what an ADAS calibration can look like: https://youtu.be/vy79tanuFgQ
After a collision, there may be the need for a module on the vehicle to be replaced. These new modules will have to be programmed in order for them to function properly on the vehicle. An ADAS Technician will have the software and the knowledge to correctly program modules on all makes and models of vehicles.
Some collision repairs are outside the realm of calibrations and programming because there may be other issues in the vehicle that need to be addressed first. An ADAS Technician will be trained in light diagnostics that include identifying why there may be a warning light on the dash or why there may be a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) in the vehicle.
Our primary customers are collision repair centers, which requires regular face-to-face interaction and professional communication. During each visit, technicians must gather information about the vehicle's history, including the events leading up to the repair and any work already completed by the collision center. This information is critical for determining the ADAS calibration and diagnostic services required.
We strive to achieve first-call resolution whenever possible, making customer service and attention to detail essential parts of this role. Technicians must be able to identify customer needs, communicate findings clearly, and ensure all calibration requirements are addressed efficiently and accurately.
In addition to serving customers in the Lubbock area, we support collision centers throughout West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. This role requires travel and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers across our service territory.
