Automotive Diagnostic Technician / Mechanic

About Us

Gold One Auto is a growing used car dealership and full-service repair shop in Lafayette, Indiana. We work on a wide range of makes and models and handle both dealership inventory reconditioning and customer repair work. Our shop is looking for an experienced automotive technician who can do more than basic maintenance — someone who can diagnose problems accurately, work independently, and take pride in quality repairs.

What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues on a variety of vehicles
  • Use scan tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot systems and identify root causes
  • Perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance to meet safety and performance standards
  • Work with the service team to provide accurate repair recommendations and estimates
  • Document repairs performed, parts used, and findings during diagnosis
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Help support efficient shop workflow and quality control

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of professional automotive repair experience
  • Strong diagnostic skills, not just parts replacement experience

  • Experience using modern diagnostic tools such as Autel, Snap-on, or similar equipment
  • Ability to work independently and complete jobs with attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • ASE certification preferred, but not required

Why Join Gold One Auto
