Automotive Mechanic

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
  • Repair and maintain various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, steering components, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, shocks & struts replacements, and other routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently for repairs and installations while adhering to safety standards.
  • Service engines, air brake systems, and electrical repairs when necessary.
  • Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical problems effectively.
  • Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.

Qualifications

  • Proven mechanic experience with dealership or independent repair shop background preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle makes and models, especially GM vehicles or similar brands.
  • Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics software and automotive electrical systems troubleshooting.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive repair machinery.
  • Knowledge of transmissions, powertrain components, alignment procedures, suspension systems, tire service, shocks & struts maintenance.
  • Ability to read schematics accurately and follow detailed repair procedures.
  • Valid certification in automotive repair or related fields; ASE certification is a plus.
