Automotive Mechanic

Duties

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced tools to identify issues accurately.
• Repair and maintain various vehicle components including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and powertrain systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections to ensure optimal performance.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs and replacements while adhering to safety standards.
• Service ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and auto body repairs to meet modern vehicle requirements.
• Work with diesel engines and perform specialized repairs involving air brake systems and welding when necessary.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and auto estimating software to ensure precise repairs aligned with manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings for each vehicle serviced.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and providing maintenance advice.

Skills

• Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience in a fast-paced automotive environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including powertrain, electrical systems, suspension, and brakes.
• Proficiency in automotive diagnostics tools and schematics interpretation for accurate troubleshooting.
• Skilled in diesel engine repair, transmission work, wheel alignment, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, and auto body repair.
• Experience working with GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive repair machinery safely.
• Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
