Automotive Mechanic Program Chair

Job Summary

The Automotive Mechanic Program Chair is responsible for performing tasks that increase the college's productivity and efficiency. Additionally, they will continue to maintain the professionalism and decorum expected of the staff at Northwest Career College.

Roles and Responsibilities

Teach automotive mechanic courses in alignment with lesson plans and syllabus guidelines
Prepare and grade written and practical exams
Deliver instruction in both classroom and lab settings
Facilitate online courses and provide virtual and in-person tutoring
Develop hands-on lab activities to support skill development
Design and update curriculum to meet program and industry standards
Supervise and support automotive mechanic instructors to maintain instructional quality
Maintain a classroom environment that supports student learning and engagement
Participate in faculty meetings, trainings, graduations, and required college events
Prepare reports by collecting and analyzing relevant data
Administer final exams and submit course grades within required timelines
Adhere to faculty dress code and professional standards
Perform other duties as assigned by the program supervisor

Experience

REQUIRED: In-field experience: 3-5 years

Skills and Qualifications

Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant current education methodologies and techniques

License/Certification

PREFERRED: ASE Certification (Automotive Service Excellence)

Education

REQUIRED HS Diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in the field

$72,000 (Salary Based on Scheduled Hours, Education & Experience)
