Automotive Mechanic/ transmission installer

Job Overview
Join our dynamic automotive service team as an Automotive Mechanic and Transmission Installer, where your expertise will drive excellence in vehicle repair and maintenance. In this energetic role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing transmissions and other critical vehicle components, ensuring our customers' vehicles perform at their best. Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
  • Repair and replace transmissions, including both manual and automatic types, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
  • Conduct routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, suspension checks, shocks & struts replacement, and brake repairs.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs, welding, and component installations while adhering to safety standards.
  • Service diesel engines and work on powertrain components to optimize vehicle performance across various makes including GM vehicles.
  • Interpret schematics and technical manuals for complex repairs involving ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), automotive electrical systems, and auto body repairs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repair procedures clearly and offering recommendations for ongoing vehicle maintenance.

Experience

  • Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair, ideally within a dealership or similar setting.
  • Familiarity with transmissions installation and repair, including experience working with both diesel and gasoline engines.
  • Knowledge of automotive diagnostics tools, schematics interpretation, and electronic systems troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with brake repair, wheel alignment, suspension work, shocks & struts replacement, tire service, and auto body repair is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work efficiently with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive electrical systems.
  • Dealership experience is a plus but not mandatory; a strong mechanical aptitude combined with customer service skills is essential. Pay: $28.28 - $34.05 per hour
