Automotive Mechanic/Technician

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
  • Conduct repairs on powertrain components, transmissions, diesel engines, and other mechanical systems with precision and attention to detail.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive service tools to complete repairs efficiently.
  • Execute vehicle maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake replacements, wheel alignments, and suspension work to ensure safety and performance.
  • Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical problems on various vehicle makes, including GM vehicles.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repair needs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs performed using auto estimating software and adhere to dealership or shop standards for quality control.

Requirements

  • Proven dealership or automotive service technician experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair.
  • Hands-on experience working with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), vehicle alignment, and electronic systems troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical knowledge across various systems including powertrain, transmissions, diesel engines, and automotive electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with schematics reading, auto estimating tools, and diagnostic equipment is highly desirable.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance machinery.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
  • Valid mechanic license or certification preferred; experience with GM vehicles is a plus.

Pay: $25.00 - $33.69 per hour
