Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Automotive Parts & Welding Supplies Coordinator to support operations at our Dearborn facility. This role is responsible for managing welding gases, shop supplies, and automotive parts inventory to ensure technicians have the materials needed to maintain efficient and safe operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in automotive parts, inventory control, or manufacturing support who enjoy working in a hands-on shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage inventory of welding gases such as argon, CO₂, oxygen, nitrogen, and acetylene
Monitor stock levels and ensure timely reordering of welding supplies and shop materials
Track gas cylinder usage, exchanges, and returns
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for deliveries and replenishment
Receive, inspect, and organize incoming parts and materials
Maintain accurate inventory records using Excel or inventory systems
Distribute welding consumables (wire, tips, nozzles, etc.) to technicians
Support gas cylinder changeovers and shop material needs
Maintain and organize parts storage areas with proper labeling
Manage and track PPE inventory for shop personnel
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and handling requirements for compressed gases and materials
Prevent shortages by proactively monitoring usage trends
Support general automotive parts coordination for shop operations
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient supply environment
Work closely with technicians, supervisors, and operations teams to support daily activities
Qualifications
1–3+ years of experience in automotive parts, inventory control, or manufacturing support
Experience working in a shop, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred
Basic to intermediate Excel or inventory system experience
Ability to lift and handle materials as required in a shop environment
Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to pass background and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
Forklift certification
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (General Industry)
Experience handling compressed gas cylinders or welding supplies
Experience with ERP or inventory management systems
