Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Preventive Maintenance Mechanic in the Charleston, SC area. A preventive maintenance mechanic is responsible for performing routine inspections, servicing, and minor repairs on machinery and equipment to proactively prevent breakdowns, ensuring optimal operational efficiency by following a scheduled maintenance plan, which includes tasks like checking fluid levels, lubricating parts, replacing filters, and identifying potential issues before they become major problems; often documenting all maintenance activities and reporting any necessary repairs to the supervisor.
Job Duties
Follow a pre-established preventive maintenance schedule to ensure timely servicing of equipment
Replace worn or damaged parts as needed, including filters, belts, seals, and other components
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including dates, performed tasks, parts used, and equipment condition
Identify and diagnose minor mechanical issues and perform basic repairs
Report any major problems or potential failures to the supervisor immediately
Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols while performing maintenance tasks
