Responsibilities
- Diagnose automotive issues using advanced diagnostics tools and schematics to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic system faults.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, powertrains, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Conduct ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibrations and alignments to ensure vehicle safety features operate correctly.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive service equipment to complete repairs efficiently and safely.
- Interpret vehicle schematics and technical manuals to execute precise repairs on GM vehicles or other makes with similar systems.
- Complete auto estimating for repairs, ensuring accurate assessment of parts and labor costs for customer approval.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience working with a variety of vehicle makes and models.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, diesel engine repair, transmissions, powertrain components, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Experience with automotive diagnostics tools, schematics interpretation, ADAS calibration, wheel alignments, and auto estimating software.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive repair machinery.
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience with maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and system inspections.
- Familiarity with service technician procedures including diagnostics troubleshooting for complex automotive electrical systems.
