Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including powertrain, electrical, suspension, brakes, and steering.
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex problems and implement effective solutions.
- Repair or replace components such as transmissions, diesel engines, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and other electronic systems.
- Conduct wheel alignments and perform vehicle maintenance tasks like oil changes, brake repairs, and tire rotations.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized automotive repair tools safely and effectively.
- Document all work performed clearly in service records and communicate repair findings to customers with professionalism and transparency.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair.
- Solid mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including powertrain, electrical systems, transmissions, and diesel engines.
- Experience working with schematics, automotive diagnostics software, ADAS calibration tools, and auto estimating programs.
- Familiarity with GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus; experience with diesel engine repair is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance tasks such as alignments, wheel balancing, welding, and general repairs.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately while applying troubleshooting techniques effectively.
