EXPERIENCED AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN/MECHANIC

Automotive Technician/Mechanic

Automotive Technician/Mechanic must have a passion for automotive care, be a true team player and have a customer-focused attitude and work ethic. Our Technicians/Mechanics are responsible for performing high-quality vehicle services while maintaining a tidy workspace.

Job Duties:

  • Diagnose, maintain and repair automotive systems including but not limited to engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning.
  • Repair and overhaul cars, vans, trucks and other automotive vehicles in accordance with Dealership and factory standards.
  • Examine and diagnose cause of any malfunctions on vehicle and discuss with service advisor and service manager the nature and extend of damage or malfunction.
  • Test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Complete repair assignments efficiently, safely and correctly. Work must pass quality inspections set forth by dealership and manufacturer standards.
  • Explaining technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals who may include employees and customers on an as-required basis.
  • Communicate with Service Advisors and Managers regarding status of work.
  • Document parts needed and communicate part information to the Parts Department.
  • Road test vehicles as necessary before and/or after repair.
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Produce high quality work that evidences pride of workmanship.
  • Actively participate in any certification/training programs requested or needed.
  • Maintaining an organized and neat working area.

Job Requirements:

  • 3+ years of automotive mechanic experience required.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and drivability issues.
  • Read and comprehend instructions and information including working through wiring diagrams.
  • Prefer journeyman level or higher experience.
  • ASE Certification preferred
  • Ford Technical Certification a big plus!
  • Dealership experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and team player.
  • Enjoy working in a busy, fast-paced shop.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
