Automotive Technician

In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Technicians will work closely with service advisors and team members to provide accurate assessments and top-quality customer service.

Duties

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics on various vehicle systems using advanced automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
  • Repair and maintain engines, transmissions, powertrains, and electrical systems with precision and efficiency.
  • Brake repairs, steering repairs, and suspension work to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
  • Utilize schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex automotive electrical systems.
  • Service GM vehicles and diesel engines, applying specialized knowledge to optimize vehicle operation.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to complete repairs effectively.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications and safety protocols to ensure high-quality workmanship in all service tasks.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid New York State Motor Vehicle Inspector License
  • Certification from an accredited automotive training program (e.g., technical school or community college) or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Candidates are expected to provide their own set of automotive tools necessary to perform job duties effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools, equipment, and dealership service software.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
