Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues across various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, suspension, and powertrain components.
- Repair and maintain vehicles with precision, including engine repairs (gasoline and diesel), transmission system repairs, vehicle suspension system adjustments, wheel alignments, and electrical wiring diagram interpretation.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle parts while adhering to safety standards.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex automotive problems efficiently.
- Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, and fluid replacements to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Diagnose ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) components and perform calibration or repairs as needed to enhance vehicle safety features.
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate clearly with customers about repair needs, timelines, and maintenance recommendations.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics accurately.
- Hands-on experience with automotive electrical systems, transmissions, powertrain components, and vehicle suspension systems.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools and software for efficient troubleshooting.
- Mechanical knowledge of GM vehicles or similar brands is a plus but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and automotive service equipment safely and effectively.
- Valid mechanic license or certification preferred but not required; relevant training or apprenticeship experience is highly valued.
