Duties
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues with engines, electrical systems, transmissions, and other vehicle components.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements to ensure vehicles meet safety standards.
- Repair or replace faulty parts including powertrain components, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and electrical systems using hand tools and power tools.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose problems related to vehicle performance
- Execute wheel alignments, suspension repairs, welding tasks, and other mechanical repairs to restore vehicles to optimal condition.
- Assist in vehicle inspections for dealership service appointments and provide detailed estimates for repairs using auto estimating software.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols; document all repairs and services performed in accordance with dealership standards.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience working on various vehicle brands, especially GM vehicles.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, powertrain components, transmissions, and ADAS technology.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and performing automotive diagnostics with modern scanning tools.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and other automotive repair machinery.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to explain repairs clearly and professionally.
- Experience with All-Data software and familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures is preferred.
- Valid technician certification or relevant ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications are highly desirable.
