AMPM Automotive is seeking a skilled and motivated B-Level Automotive Technician who holds a valid Maryland State Inspection (MSI) License to join our team in Rockville.
We believe the traditional flat-rate system puts too much stress on the technician, so we do things differently to take care of our crew. We offer an excellent hybrid pay model: a guaranteed base salary so you never have to worry about a slow week, PLUS an additional hourly production rate for labor hours turned. If you work hard and stay efficient, your earning potential is massive without any of the traditional flat-rate anxiety.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct official Maryland State Safety Inspections in strict compliance with state regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance, alignments, tire services, and general mechanical repairs on a wide range of domestic and import vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair automotive systems including brakes, steering, suspension, air conditioning, and electrical components.
- Utilize modern diagnostic scan tools, interpret vehicle schematics, and execute accurate troubleshooting.
- Maintain clear and detailed records of all work performed for service writers and customer transparency.
- Keep your designated bay clean, safe, and organized.
- Road-test vehicles to guarantee quality control and ensure proper repair execution.
Qualifications & Requirements
- License: Must possess a valid, active Maryland State Inspection License (MSI) (Non-negotiable / Dealbreaker).
- Experience: 3–5+ years of professional automotive repair experience (B-Level proficiency) in a dealership or independent shop.
- Tools: Must have your own complete set of tools appropriate for a B-Tech.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong diagnostic capabilities and a proactive approach to vehicle troubleshooting.
- Ability to work efficiently in a professional shop environment while maintaining high quality standards.
