Job Summary
An Automotive Tint Technician installs window tint films and protective coatings on vehicles while ensuring high-quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and compliance with safety standards. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and knowledge of automotive glass and tinting materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Install window tint film on cars, SUVs, trucks, and commercial vehicles.
- Measure, cut, shrink, and apply tint film accurately to vehicle windows.
- Remove old or damaged tint safely without damaging glass or interiors.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning and inspecting windows before installation.
- Inspect completed work for bubbles, creases, gaps, or defects.
- Maintain tools, heat guns, cutting equipment, and work areas in clean condition.
- Advise customers on tint shades, film types, care instructions, and legal tint limits.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and company quality standards.
- Handle basic customer service and answer product-related questions.
- Assist with paint protection film (PPF), vinyl wrapping, or detailing when required.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in automotive window tint installation preferred.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to use tinting tools and heat-shrinking techniques.
- Knowledge of automotive tint laws and regulations is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license may be required.
