Aviation Accountant In this role, you will manage complex financial transactions, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and deliver accurate financial reporting that supports strategic decision-making. <Duties>
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliations such as general ledger reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis to maintain accurate financial data.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using accounting software like PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
- Oversee journal entries, accruals, and double entry bookkeeping to ensure precise recording of all financial transactions.
- Perform budget forecasting, variance analysis, and financial report writing to support operational planning and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist with internal audits to uphold financial integrity.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements specific to the aviation sector and government agencies.
- Assist with tax preparation and coordinate with external auditors during audit cycles.
<Requirements>
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations including SOX compliance and governmental accounting standards.
- Proficiency in financial software such as PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.
- Knowledge of technical accounting concepts including securities law, estate law, and public accounting practices.
- Experience with financial statement preparation, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for clear financial report writing and interpretation; mentoring abilities are a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
