Avis Car Rental Agent - Rotating Weekends

Avis, a locally owned car rental agency based at Ford Airport in Kingsford, Michigan, seeks a friendly part-time Rental Car Counter Agent. This position provides a great customer experience for our company by ensuring the first contact with our customers, in-person or by phone, is positive and professional. To succeed, the ideal candidate is upbeat and energetic and enjoys working in customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE AVIS RENTAL CAR COUNTER AGENT.

• Assist customers w/their rental vehicle needs while also promoting optional products and services.
• Service rental desk.
• Move and clean cars.
• Create reservations.
• Perform general office tasks (greet customers, answer phones in a cheerful and helpful manner, computer work, handle online correspondence with accuracy, typing, filing, copying, printing, organizing, ensure office space is neat, stocked and ready for each day, etc.)

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS. Starting wage of $18 – $21 per hour. $1 shift differential for Saturday + Sunday shifts.

SCHEDULE. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule (generally 16-24 hours per week) that will include rotating weekends and holidays.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED AS AN AVIS RENTAL CAR COUNTER AGENT.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Possess a positive attitude that includes excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional appearance and presentation skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule which will include weekends and holidays, as scheduled.
• Capacity to learn extensive training material and apply material on a daily basis while performing the job.
• Proficient w/computers and MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook calendar & email).
• Possess an impeccable attendance record, an exceptional work ethic and exemplary time management skills.
• Able to work with little to no supervision and are a flexible, adaptable team player.
• A DOT drug test may be required for this position.
