Job title: AVP/VP Learning & Development Manager

Reporting to: Group Head of Talent

Location: Karachi, Pakistan

Terms: Full time / Permanent

Special requirements:

  • Must be able to work with regional and Group stakeholders across multiple time zones.
  • Occasional travel within Pakistan or to Group locations may be required.


Role context

Habib Bank AG Zurich is a Swiss-incorporated banking group operating across multiple geographies. As the Group continues to strengthen its people capability and leadership pipeline, there is a need for a structured, business-aligned Learning & Development function.

This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and governing learning programs that build functional, leadership, and behavioral capability across the organization. The role focuses on creating measurable impact through well-designed learning interventions aligned with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and talent priorities. The incumbent will work closely with business leaders, HR partners, and external vendors to deliver learning solutions that improve performance and readiness.


Responsibilities

1. Learning Program Design & Delivery

  • Conduct learning needs analysis using performance data, stakeholder inputs, and future capability requirements.
  • Design structured learning journeys for leadership, functional, and role-based development.
  • Ensure learning programs align with competency frameworks and succession planning initiatives.
  • Design and deliver learning programs including leadership development, managerial capability, behavioral skills, and functional training.
  • Develop blended learning solutions using classroom, digital, and experiential approaches.
  • Partner with subject matter experts and external vendors to develop relevant and high-quality content.
  • Oversee onboarding and role readiness programs to reduce time to productivity.


3. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with senior leaders and line managers to align learning initiatives with business needs.
  • Act as an advisor to managers on team capability development and learning interventions.
  • Facilitate selected leadership or capability workshops where required.


4. Learning Governance & Measurement

  • Define learning KPIs and measure program effectiveness and business impact.
  • Track learning budgets, vendor performance, and program ROI.
  • Continuously review and enhance learning programs based on outcomes and feedback.


5. Digital Learning & Systems

  • Manage learning platforms and digital learning tools, ensuring effective adoption and engagement.
  • Curate internal and external learning content aligned with development priorities.
  • Support initiatives that promote a continuous learning culture across the organization.
  • Embed learning into performance management and talent development processes.


Candidate requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • L&D, OD, or facilitation certifications preferred.


Experience

  • 8–12 years of experience in Learning & Development, with hands-on experience in program design and implementation.
  • Experience within banking, financial services, or regulated environments preferred.
  • Proven experience working with senior stakeholders and translating business needs into learning solutions.
