Axway APIM Integrations Consultant

Remedi Electronic Commerce Group has a client with a growing enterprise API integration and modernization initiative that requires an experienced Axway APIM Consultant to support hands-on API delivery, platform integration, and operational support efforts.

This engagement is focused on helping the client accelerate API integration delivery while internal staff members focus on broader modernization and infrastructure initiatives. The role is highly delivery-oriented and best suited for a consultant with strong Axway APIM experience who can work independently within complex enterprise integration environments.

The Challenge

Our client, a U.S.-based enterprise organization with an established Axway API Management environment, is continuing to expand and modernize its enterprise integration capabilities. As API usage and partner connectivity requirements continue to grow, the organization requires additional consulting support to help design, configure, support, and troubleshoot enterprise APIs and gateway integrations.
The client is seeking a consultant who can step directly into a production API environment and contribute immediately across API delivery, gateway policy configuration, integration troubleshooting, lifecycle management, and operational support activities.
This is not a project management or purely advisory role. This is a hands-on technical consulting engagement focused on enterprise API integration execution.

The Work

  • Design, develop, configure, and support APIs using Axway API Management (APIM).
  • Build and maintain secure REST and SOAP API services.
  • Configure API gateway policies including routing, transformations, authentication, throttling, and traffic management.
  • Support API lifecycle management including deployment, testing, versioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with internal application, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver enterprise integration solutions.
  • Troubleshoot API and integration issues across distributed enterprise environments.
  • Support integrations involving HTTP, SFTP, web services, and hybrid integration workflows.
  • Assist with API governance, standards, and platform best practices.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks.
  • Contribute to automation and operational efficiency initiatives where appropriate.
This is a tactical, delivery-focused consulting role supporting ongoing enterprise integration initiatives within a mature Axway APIM environment.

The Outcome

A successful consultant will help accelerate enterprise API delivery efforts while improving integration reliability, operational supportability, and platform scalability. Your work will directly support the client’s broader API modernization initiatives by helping stabilize and expand enterprise integration capabilities without disrupting ongoing strategic platform efforts.

The Ideal Consultant

  • Strong hands-on experience with Axway API Management (APIM) or Axway API Gateway platforms.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Strong understanding of API lifecycle management and API gateway technologies.
  • Experience working with JSON, XML, REST, SOAP, and OpenAPI / Swagger standards.
  • Experience implementing API security standards such as OAuth2, JWT, SAML, and TLS.
  • Experience configuring API gateway routing, policies, transformations, and traffic management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging experience in distributed enterprise integration environments.
  • Experience with Linux / Unix environments and scripting.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and Git-based source control.
  • Comfortable operating independently within fast-paced enterprise consulting environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred experience includes Axway SecureTransport, Axway B2Bi, cloud platforms, containerization technologies, or enterprise integration modernization initiatives.

Additional Details

  • Job Type: Contract.
  • Location: Remote or hybrid (U.S.-based preferred).
  • Start Date: Immediate.
  • Workload: Full-time 40 hours per week.
  • Duration: Initial 3–6 month engagement with potential extension.
