Azure Cloud Engineer | Qatar

1. Role Overview

• The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, operating, and supporting cloud infrastructure services used by MOEHE.
• The role is operational and hands‑on, focusing on day‑to‑day cloud operations, service availability, security, and compliance.
• The engineer shall work under MOEHE direction and in alignment with approved architectures, policies, and standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure resources (compute, storage, networking).
• Operate and maintain production and DR cloud environments.
• Perform up to 3rd level support for cloud related incidents and service requests.
• Monitor cloud services and proactively identify performance, cost, or security issues.
• Implement and manage:
• Virtual machines and images
• Virtual networks, subnets, routing, and connectivity to on‑premises systems
• Identity and access controls for cloud resources
• Support backup, restore, and disaster recovery activities for cloud workloads.
• Apply patches, updates, and configuration changes in line with change management and SCCM team.
• Participate in DR drills, failover tests, and recovery validation.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and configuration records.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, security, application teams, and vendors when needed.
• Report risks, issues, and improvement opportunities to MOEHE technical leadership.

3. Security, Compliance, and Governance

• Ensure cloud environments comply with:
• MOEHE policies and standards
• National cybersecurity and data protection requirements
• Implement security best practices such as:
• Secure access controls
• Network segmentation
• Logging and monitoring
• Support audits, assessments, and compliance reviews when requested.
• Ensure that no sensitive data or credentials are shared outside of MOEHE.

4. Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise cloud platforms (public or government cloud).
• Experience in:
• Virtual networking and secure connectivity
• Identity and access management
• Backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Monitoring and alerting tools
• Ability to work with hybrid environments (on premises + cloud).
• Experience supporting critical production services.

5. Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5+ years experience in cloud engineering roles.
• Proven operational experience (not only design or pre-sales).
• Experience working in large or regulated environments is preferred.

Pay: QAR18,000.00 - QAR20,000.00 per month
