Job Title: Azure Cloud Engineer with AVD Experience

Location: India - Remote

Position Overview
Infrastructure and AVD Contractor will be responsible for providing general Azure and VDI support through M&A activities. They must have experience managing enterprise environments – including multi-location and hybrid distributed workloads. This person will assist, primarily, with on-prem to Azure migration activities including environment analysis, system builds, file migrations, and other cutover activities.

Responsibilities:

•  Adhere to cloud engineering standards like Microsoft Well-Architected Framework and Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
•  Follow established standards for Azure Virtual Desktop deployments.
•  Strategize with project managers, application teams and stakeholders to develop project requirements and timelines.
•  Coordinate with internal teams to migrate file services.
•  Coordinate with internal teams to procure resources like servers, quota, security groups, etc. as needed.
•  Partner with other contractors for DBA project needs.
•  Partner with other contractors for AVD transition of support.

Technical responsibilities:

•  File server migration analysis.
•  File server migration execution (Azure File Sync + Robocopy)
•  Create new AVD images, partnering with app owners on app installations.
•  Create new AVD pools with proper configurations; like autoscaling. (Nerdio)
•  Assign security groups to deliver line of business applications to proper personnel.
•  Execute cutover steps for file and AVD resources during maintenance windows - generally nights and weekends.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

•  Certifications:
• o  AZ-104: Azure Administrator Associateo  AZ-140: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
•  Experience managing large-scale Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments (500+ users).

•  Experience migrating workloads from on-prem to Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
•  Familiarity with Entra ID, Active Directory for security provisioning.
•  Foundational knowledge from working in Azure networking environments (VNETs, subnets, NSGs, etc.)
•  Experience managing Azure Backups and Azure Compute Galleries for AVD image management.
•  Ability to work frequent nights and weekends for cutover activities.

Nice to have:

•  Experience utilizing Azure File Sync (Storage Sync Services) and Robocopy.
•  Experience working with configuration tools: Ansible and PowerShell.
•  Nerdio Certifications (NME-100, NME-200)
•  Familiarity with the Microsoft Well-Architected Framework for enterprise landing zone deployments.
•  Experience working in a team setting using Agile methodologi
