ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect end-to-end data engineering solutions leveraging Azure Databricks, Data Lake, Synapse, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).

  • Define data architecture blueprints, data modeling standards, and data governance frameworks.

  • Lead the design and optimization of ELT/ETL data pipelines for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.

  • Collaborate with business, analytics, and application teams to ensure data solutions meet performance, scalability, and compliance requirements.

  • Oversee data warehousing architecture, including dimensional modeling, data mart design, and performance tuning.

  • Drive best practices in data quality, metadata management, lineage, and cataloging.

  • Provide technical leadership to data engineers and guide the team in implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective data solutions.

  • Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance data engineering efficiency and capabilities.

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare data security and privacy standards (HIPAA, PHI/PII handling).


Required Skills & Experience

  • Expertise in Azure data ecosystem — ADF, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL, Power BI integration.

  • Proven experience in data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT pipeline development.

  • Strong understanding of data security, governance, and compliance frameworks, especially in healthcare environments.

  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark.

  • Experience in CI/CD for data pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills — ability to translate business needs into technical design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in Healthcare, Life Sciences, or Pharma domains.

  • Familiarity with FHIR data standards, HL7, or other healthcare data formats.

  • Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, or other modern cloud DWH solutions.

  • Knowledge of data observability tools and real-time data streaming (Kafka, Event Hubs).

  • Relevant certifications:

    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate / Azure Solutions Architect Expert

    • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional

Education

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
