We are seeking a skilled Azure Developer (Data Engineer) with a strong data engineering background to support a data warehouse migration initiative. This role involves balancing current-state production support with building modern Azure-based data solutions as part of a long-term migration strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Azure Data Engineering (Primary Focus):
- Develop and support Azure-based data engineering solutions for data warehouse migration
- Contribute to data platform development using Azure services such as Databricks and Data Factory
- Work across the Azure data stack to support end-to-end data workflows
Current Environment Support (Initial Ramp-Up):
- Support existing production systems and enhancements in a SQL-heavy environment
- Work with SSIS workflows and existing tools during migration planning phase
- Ensure smooth “run the business” operations while transition is underway
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure data engineering (real project delivery required)
- Expertise in:
- Azure Databricks
- Azure Data Factory
- Python
- Solid understanding of end-to-end data engineering in Azure
- Experience working on at least one data warehouse project
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts vs OLTP systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Legacy Environment Requirements (Mandatory)
- Willingness to work in a legacy environment for 3–4 months during initial ramp-up
- Experience with:
- SQL Server (strong query writing skills)
- Stored Procedures (basic proficiency)
- SSIS (basic understanding of data flows, sources, and targets)
- Comfortable working with existing tools (e.g., SQL-based systems and workflows)
Nice to Have
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric
Pay: $50.00 per hour
