Summary: Manages the needs of the Baader technicians and oversees the purchasing of parts for manufacturing equipment including Baader heading-fillet processing, skinning, and mincing equipment for white fish shore base plants. This position will require updating databases, coordinating downtime repairs, writing reports, scheduling contractor work, and forecasting capital requests for manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To review the required work with maintenance planners to determine the availability of parts needed to schedule tasks at each location in the factories around production schedules.
  • Oversee and or review stock deficiencies before planned tasks are scheduled and making sure critical spares are sufficient for the factories.
  • Oversee and/or initiate preventive maintenance schedules for manufacturing operations and food safety compliance.
  • Creating rotation schedules, assist in parts ordering and create maintenance scheduling for the manufacturing equipment and crews during operations and downtime events.
  • Works with Chief & Assistant Engineers along with plant management to schedule repairs and projects.
  • Provides data and reports to production management and facility engineering as requested to aid in addressing KPIs in manufacturing operations and opportunity issues.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of company, industry and regulatory SOPs and Trident standards.
  • To assist in the installation of equipment of both prototype and re-engineered applications in the manufacturing plants.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety training
  • Acquiring knowledge of operating Trident’s EAM and SAP systems which includes the requisition and asset management programs.
  • Must be able to perform problem solving and effectively communicate, through teamwork.
  • Responsible for assisting the Op-Ex teams in applying new technologies to manufacturing lines.
  • Able to direct and/or train other individuals within the department as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • 5 year's experience in Maintenance Operations in a protein manufacturing environment/industry.
  • 5 year's experience in a Baader Mechanic related role, with exposure to installations and maintenance of Baader fish processing equipment, fabrication, and industrial electrical power systems.
  • 2 year's experience in a supervisory/managerial role.

Preferred Requirements

  • Seafood manufacturing experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Project Management experience

Knowledge, Skillsets, and Abilities:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and CMMS or EAM software.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of company, industry and regulatory SOPs.
  • Able to assist in the installation of equipment of both prototype and re-engineered applications in the manufacturing plants.
  • Must have good mechanical skills and be able to multi-task with managerial skills to direct crews.
  • Proficient with reading mechanical and electrical blueprints
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills to problem-solve

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
