Designer _ Baby Apparel
Overview
The Designer will work cross functionally with Graphic Design, Sales and Merchandising to create and develop seasonal apparel lines while supporting the overall brand’s objective.
Key Accountabilities

Seasonally research and identify marketplace trends on style, fit and color to maintain a brand strategy from a Infant/ Baby point of view

Partner with brand leadership, in advance of seasonal design calendar to execute Kids designs against areas of suggested alignment to adult initiatives and concepts

Oversee the creation, development and execution of design process while implementing the overall brand strategy and merchandise objectives for the Infants business

Create technically accurate CAD sketches of styles in development

Communicate regularly with Design and Merchandising teams to discuss line development progress and share feedback

Execute all relative tech packs to ensure accuracy of product development

Attend all fitting meetings relative to designed styles from concept through production and lend feedback to ensure design intention is captured

Review and approve styles, materials, trims and colors according to need and effectively communicate approvals to appropriate cross functional teams

Participate in sampling communication between sample room, Design, and cross-functional teams as needed

Attend and recap both corporate milestone and cross-functional meetings for key feedback, identifying actionable requests and subsequent timelines

Work closely with Design, Graphic Designers, Merch, Operations and Sales to prepare line reviews and presentation materials for market and corporate brand meetings

Partner cross-functionally to gather and present design insights from the brand leading up to collaborative milestones.

Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities/Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design
-
5+ years of experience in the fashion industry

Specific Baby Apparel design preferred
-
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
-
Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills with attention to detail

Ability to lead and develop a team of Assistant/Associate Designer (s)

Brand appropriate aesthetic
Salary Description
$75K-$110K/yr
