Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Babysitter to join our Amazing Kids Club team! In this role, you will provide engaging, safe, and nurturing care for children of various ages while their parents workout or attend fitness classes.
Work Schedule
Various coverage needed during the Hours of Operation
Monday – Thursday 8:30AM – 1:00PM 4:00pm-7:45pm.
Friday 8:30AM – 1:00PM
Saturday 8:00AM – 11:30AM
Sunday 9:00AM – 11:30am
Duties
- Ensure the safety of all children
- Communicate with parents about their child’s experience in Amazing Kids
- Ask for photo identification for any parents/adults picking up a child if you do not recognize them
- Ensure a proper staff to child ratio. This includes finding substitutes when out sick and staying in the classroom or program area until your staff replacement arrives for their shift
- Responsible for meeting all quality standards in the program area. Ensure the Assistant Membership Director is notified of any safety or non-compliance issues
- Attend meetings or trainings as required. Serve as a YMCA ‘ambassador’ in the Southington community
- Operate all programs with the safety of the participants in mind and abide by all applicable risk management policies
- Follow all Southington-Cheshire Community YMCA policies and procedures
- Foster a positive team orientated environment, encouraging staff growth and development
- Be a positive role model for children and other staff
- Be sure the program area is kept clean and free from potential hazards
- Follow the YMCA’s behavior management policy. Focus on positive behaviors and helping children work through their difficulties
Requirements
- Qualified candidate is responsible for implementing a safe, positive environment for children participating in the Amazing Kids program
- Must have child care experience
- Candidate must be at least 16 years old or hold a high school diploma
- Have experience working with young children
Pay: From $16.94 per hour
Expected hours: 6.0 per week
