Job Overview:

As a Pediatric Respite Care Provider, you will be responsible for offering temporary relief and support to families caring for children with special needs or medical conditions. Your primary duty is to provide high-quality care and supervision to children in a safe and nurturing environment, allowing their primary caregivers to take a break and attend to other responsibilities or simply rest. This role requires compassion, patience, and the ability to handle various medical and behavioral needs of children.

Responsibilities:

1. ChildCare:

○ Provide direct care and supervision to children with special needs or

medical conditions.

○ Follow individualized care plans designed by healthcare professionals or

guardians.

○ Assist with activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, dressing, and

grooming.

○ Administer medication following prescribed dosages and schedules.

○ Monitor and manage medical equipment if necessary.

2. SafetyandWell-being:

○ Ensure a safe environment for children at all times, adhering to safety

protocols and guidelines.

○ Respond promptly to any emergencies or medical issues that may arise.

○ Maintain accurate records of care provided, including observations,

medication administration, and any incidents. 3. CommunicationandCollaboration:

○ Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding the child's progress, needs, and any concerns.

○ Collaborate with healthcare professionals, therapists, and other caregivers to ensure continuity of care.

○ Provide feedback and updates on the child's development and behavior as appropriate.

4. EngagementandSupport:

○ Engage children in age-appropriate activities, play, and social interaction.

○ Foster a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes the child's

emotional well-being.

○ Adapt caregiving techniques and strategies based on the individual needs and preferences of each child.

5. ProfessionalismandEthics:

○ Uphold professional standards of conduct, including confidentiality and

respect for families' privacy.

○ Demonstrate empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity in all interactions.

○ Stay informed about best practices and developments in pediatric care

and special needs services. Qualifications:

● Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special needs or medical conditions, is preferred.

● Certification in CPR, First Aid, and other relevant certifications may be required.

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

● Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

● Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for evenings, weekends, and

overnight shifts if needed.

● A genuine passion for working with children and making a positive difference in

their lives.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.65 per hour
