This role is designed for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for building reliable, secure, and scalable backend solutions. You will collaborate closely with front-end engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to develop robust APIs, optimize system performance, and ensure the stability of our applications as Octane continues to grow.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Build and optimize server-side applications, databases, and system architecture.
• Collaborate with front-end engineers to ensure seamless integration between client and server components.
• Develop secure, efficient, and reliable solutions that support business needs.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve application performance and system reliability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions and knowledge sharing.
• Implement testing strategies to ensure application quality and stability.
• Stay up to date with emerging backend technologies, frameworks, and development practices.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 4–7 years of experience in back-end development
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or C#
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices
• Strong understanding of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and data modeling
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Familiarity with containerization and deployment tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills
• Understanding of security best practices and scalable system design
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about building reliable backend systems
