Back of House Team Member – Kitchen & Some Cashier Duties

About Us

Stara Pierogi & Sausage is a growing Polish restaurant serving authentic Polish cuisine in a fast-paced and friendly environment. We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Back of House Team Member to join our team.

This position is primarily a kitchen role; however, all team members are expected to assist with front-of-house operations during the final hours of service. Candidates should be comfortable interacting with customers and operating a cash register when needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant standards
• Cook and prepare pierogi, kielbasa, schnitzel, and other menu items
• Maintain food quality and consistency
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards
• Stock and organize kitchen inventory
• Receive and properly store deliveries
• Wash dishes and maintain a clean work environment
• Complete opening and closing kitchen duties
• Assist with customer service and cashier responsibilities during the final 1–2 hours of service each day
• Operate the POS system and process customer transactions when assigned
• Work closely with both kitchen and front-of-house staff

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Polish language skills preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
• Restaurant, kitchen, or food preparation experience preferred
• Willingness to assist with front-of-house duties as needed
