Back Office Dental Assistant

Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Office Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic, providing exceptional support to both patients and dental professionals. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. We are a family dentistry office located in the Smart and Final Shopping Center of Yorba Linda. We are a private PPO/FFS office so patient flow is 1-2 patients per hour per provider. Hours are typically Mon, Thurs Friday 9-5 with cleaning/admin day on Tuesday. We have two regular dentists on Mon, Thurs, Friday with an orthodontist that comes one Saturday each month from 8-11. RDA preferred, but not required.

Duties

• Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Manage patient scheduling, including appointments for general dentistry and endodontics.
• Maintain accurate medical records and patient information within our systems.
• Ensure the clinic adheres to aseptic techniques and maintains a clean working environment.
• Utilize Dentrix for patient management and record keeping.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans, insurance information, and follow-up care.
• Support front desk operations, including answering phones and handling patient inquiries.

Experience

• Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with four-handed dentistry practices is an advantage.
• Knowledge of oral surgery and general dentistry procedures is beneficial.
• Proficiency in managing medical records and utilizing Dentrix software is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
