Back Office Medical Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Back Office Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as excellent patient service skills. The Back Office Medical Assistant will assist in various clinical tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of our medical facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Obtain and record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians or nursing staff.
• Document patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
• Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with other medical staff to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential.
• Experience or training in X-Ray procedures is preferred.
• Familiarity with emergency medicine practices is a plus.
• Strong skills in patient care and service to enhance the patient experience.
• Understanding of coding practices related to medical billing is beneficial.
• Experience working in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or Level I Trauma Center is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.50 per hour
