backend developer (remote)

Role Overview:

We're seeking a Senior Backend Developer who will architect, optimize, and scale the core backend systems powering our LMS and Al modules. You'll work closely with our product and Al teams to ensure speed, reliability, and data integrity across all learning sessions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs (Nest.js / Node.js preferred).
• Optimize database performance (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB).
• Build and integrate Al-driven features (e.g., compliance Al, adaptive tutors, content parsing).
• Collaborate with frontend and DevOps teams to deliver seamless product updates.
• Implement best practices for testing, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP).
• Ensure system reliability, security, and scalability under heavy data loads.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to high-level architectural decisions.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in backend development (preferably Node.js / Nest.js).
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud architecture.
• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB).
• Familiarity with containerization and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent understanding of system performance optimization and security.
• Proven ability to work in fast-paced, high-growth startups.
