Role Description

This is a full-time, U.S. remote role for a Backend Software Engineer. The Backend Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining server-side components, ensuring system performance and scalability, and collaborating with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server logic. Other tasks include managing databases, optimizing application performance, and implementing security measures to protect data.

Qualifications

• Experience building real-world AI-powered features using commercial APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Claude, Gemini, etc.)
• Strong backend development skills with languages like Python, Node.js, C#, or Java
• Ability to work in cloud-native environments using Kubernetes/Docker (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
• Familiarity with distributed systems and modern architectures (e.g. event-driven services, message queues, observability)
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data, ideally including time-series or financial data
• An engineering mindset focused on performance, correctness, and clean architectures
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment with tight feedback loops
• Clear communicator and collaborative team member
