Backend WordPress Developer

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Technical WordPress Developer to take ownership of our web presence. The ideal candidate isn't just a designer; they are a problem-solver who understands the "under the hood" mechanics of WordPress. Your primary goal will be to ensure our websites are visually professional, technically flawless, and perfectly optimized for search engines and user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Custom Development & Design: Design and deploy high-performing WordPress websites using best practices (custom themes, page builders, or Gutenberg).
• Technical Troubleshooting: Act as the first line of defense for site crashes, plugin conflicts, broken layouts, and database issues.
• Core Web Vitals & Speed: Optimize site architecture, image compression, and caching to ensure lightning-fast load times.
• SEO Implementation: Manage technical SEO requirements including schema markup, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, and proper heading hierarchies to make the site "Google-friendly."
• Security & Maintenance: Perform regular updates, backups, and security audits to protect against vulnerabilities.
• Integration: Connect WordPress with third-party APIs, CRM tools, and tracking pixels (GA4, Google Tag Manager).

Required Technical Skills:

• Advanced WordPress: Deep knowledge of the WP ecosystem, including hook/filter patterns.
• Languages: Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• SEO Tools: Experience with RankMath/Yoast, Google Search Console, and PageSpeed Insights.
• Hosting & Server: Familiarity with DNS management, SSL certificates, and CPanel/SFTP.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven track record of fixing "unfixable" WordPress bugs.
• A portfolio that demonstrates both aesthetic design and high performance scores.
• Ability to explain technical issues in plain English.
