Backup Consultant

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Backup Consultant based in Riyadh. The Backup Consultant will be responsible for managing and maintaining backup solutions, ensuring data recovery processes, monitoring backup systems, performing regular backups, and troubleshooting issues. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with other IT teams to ensure data protection and continuity.

• Manage and maintain Veritas NetBackup,Cohesity environments to ensure smooth backup operations.
• Configure and monitor backup jobs, schedules, and policies to meet business needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backup failures, ensuring optimal data protection and availability.
• Design, document, and implement disaster recovery plans .
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on enterprise backup solutions , particularly Veritas NetBackup and Cohesity Data Protect.
• Conduct regular health checks, performance tuning, and system audits to ensure compliance with data protection standards.
• Document all configurations and procedures for backup and recovery operations.

• 6–8 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise backup technologies.
• Proven expertise with Veritas NetBackup , Cohesity Data Protect , and strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems .
• Strong experience configuring and managing:
• File system backups
• VM snapshot backups
• Database backups and restores
• Solid understanding of data protection, compliance, and disaster recovery principles .
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field .
• Certifications in Veritas NetBackup or related backup technologies (preferred).
• Ability to proactively detect and resolve potential issues before they become critical.
• Strong problem-solving skills , with attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities (verbal and written).
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Flexible to provide off-hours and on-call support when required.
• Innovative, self-motivated, and able to engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
