We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Backup Nanny to provide reliable childcare support for families in need of temporary or occasional assistance. As a Backup Nanny, you will ensure children’s safety, well-being, and engagement while fostering a positive and caring environment. Your role is vital in helping families maintain their routines and peace of mind during busy or unforeseen times.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive childcare for infants, toddlers, and children of various ages, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
• Follow parents’ specific routines, schedules, and instructions for feeding, naps, playtime, and activities
• Engage children with age-appropriate activities that promote development and learning
• Administer basic first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or health concerns
• Maintain a clean and organized environment, including diapering, feeding areas, and play spaces
• Communicate effectively with parents about children’s needs, activities, and any concerns that arise during your shift
• Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing compassionate care

Qualifications

• Prior experience in nannying, babysitting, daycare, or caregiving roles working with children of various ages
• Knowledge of child development principles and age-specific care techniques for infants and toddlers
• Certification in first aid and CPR is highly preferred
• Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with families and team members
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and attentive in dynamic situations
• Flexibility to work varied hours on short notice as needed
