The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager who is not just an inspector, but a system builder. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) from scratch. You will be the driving force for quality on our factory floor, responsible for catching defects early, training our team, and ensuring every product that leaves our facility meets the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop & Implement a Quality Management System (QMS): Design and establish a complete QMS, including all necessary documentation, procedures, and quality standards.
- Establish In-Process Quality Gates: Create and manage mandatory quality checkpoints at critical stages of production (e.g., post-cutting, post-embroidery, pre-assembly) to prevent defects from moving down the line.
- Create Technical Specifications: Work with the design and production teams to develop detailed "Tech Packs" and approve "Golden Samples" for every product style.
- Team Training & Leadership: Train production staff and supervisors on all new quality standards, inspection methods, and their role in maintaining quality. Lead and mentor a small team of quality checkers.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality issues to identify the root cause of defects and implement permanent corrective actions, not just temporary fixes.
- Reporting & Analysis: Track and analyze quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, rejection reasons) and provide regular reports to the company owner on performance and areas for improvement.
- Champion a Quality Culture: Promote a "Right First Time" mindset throughout the entire production team, emphasizing pride in workmanship and accountability.
Qualifications & Skills
- Direct Product Expertise: Hands-on experience with fashion bags, intricate embroidery (hand and machine), and garment construction is a mandatory requirement. Candidates must have a deep understanding of the specific quality challenges associated with these products.
- Experience: 3-5 years in a quality control or quality assurance role within the apparel, textile, leather goods, or fashion accessories industry.
- System Building: Proven experience in creating and implementing quality procedures, checklists, and systems is essential.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of fabric properties, stitching techniques, and defect identification in embroidered and assembled goods.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to train, motivate, and lead a team to achieve quality goals.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive approach to identifying problems and building sustainable solutions.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills in Hindi and basic English.
- Education: A diploma or degree in Textile Technology, Fashion Technology, or a related field is a plus but not required if hands-on experience is strong
Performance-Based Incentive
The initial salary is for a 3-month probationary period. After 3 months, a performance review will be conducted. Based on the successful achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) — such as the successful implementation of the initial Quality Gates and a measurable reduction in the internal defect rate — the monthly salary will be increased by ₹2,000.
