Baista/Cook

The Radiator is a close-knit team of people who pride ourselves in crafting great coffee, food and strive to make sure everyone feels welcome in our Sunnyside neighborhood café. We’re looking for fun people to join our team for all roles barista and cook/prep cook for mornings! We are a café open from 7am - 2pm. This is a full service shared tip restaurant and while each job description is specific it does require cross training to be able to assist the team in all areas, including guest service and cash handling.

Craft coffee experience is preferred. Food service experience is a plus, but not a requirement. However, food prep is an important part of the job, regardless of position. As a cook you are responsible for the preparation and execution of all required menu items needed on a daily basis as per the requirements for the restaurant. The cook position is required to assist in opening and/or closing the restaurant and preparing and service of the core menu items as well as other offerings for the day.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Qualifications:

• Must be available weekends
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented fun, dynamic and collaborative environment
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
• Available to work flexible hours that may include mornings, afternoons, midday, weekends, and/or holidays
• Meet operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, and accurate cash handling
• Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and friendly communication
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, follow instructions and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail and healthy respect for cleanliness
• Prepare ingredients for daily menu items and special orders
• Ability to follow recipes and procedures, measure and mix ingredients with precision
• Use variety of kitchen tools and utensils
• Operate espresso machine, mixers, blenders and other kitchen equipment
• Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food and supplies
• Maintain kitchen safety and sanitation standards
• Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, cafe and bar areas
• Adhere to all food and beverage safety regulations
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to stand for entire shift and be able to lift 50lbs
• Other duties as assigned

Pay is $16.27/hr plus tips for an average of $20-$25 or more an hour.
