Responsible for preparing, baking, and finishing breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods. They combine culinary skills with creativity, ensuring products are both delicious and visually appealing.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation & Baking
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
- Knead, shape, and bake bread, rolls, pastries, and cakes.
- Decorate and finish baked goods with icing, glazes, or toppings.
- Quality Control
- Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and appearance.
- Monitor baking times and temperatures for optimal results.
- Test new recipes and adjust techniques as needed.
- Inventory & Supplies
- Order and maintain stock of flour, sugar, yeast, and other ingredients.
- Track usage and minimize waste.
- Equipment Handling
- Operate ovens, mixers, proofers, and other baking equipment.
- Clean and maintain tools and workstations.
- Customer Service (in retail bakeries)
- Assist customers with orders and special requests.
- Provide recommendations and ensure satisfaction.
