Ballet Instructor & Program Manager

JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced Lead Ballet Instructor & Program Coordinator to manage and develop our ballet department while delivering exceptional training across all levels. This role includes supervising day-to-day operations, designing structured lesson plans, mentoring instructors, tracking student development, and maintaining effective communication with parents.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in classical ballet, proven leadership skills, and a genuine passion for nurturing dancers in a positive and professional setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Oversight: Manage the overall ballet program, including scheduling, class coordination, and staffing to ensure efficient and smooth operations.

Curriculum Planning: Design and implement structured lesson plans for each level, focusing on technical growth, artistic expression, and performance preparation.

Student Progress Tracking: Monitor and assess student development regularly, establishing clear progression pathways and providing constructive feedback to both students and parents.

Teaching Duties: Conduct engaging and technically sound classes for all levels, creating a supportive, disciplined, and motivating environment.

Attendance & Records: Maintain accurate attendance logs, student progress records, and submit regular reports to the Academy Manager.

Instructor Supervision: Guide and support part-time instructors, ensuring clear communication, teamwork, and proper class coverage.

Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to safeguarding policies, provide basic first aid when required, and ensure a safe learning environment at all times.

Parent Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for parents regarding schedules, student performance, and upcoming activities.

Events & Showcases: Organize internal performances and prepare students for competitions and external events with full coordination and support.

Cross-Department Coordination: Collaborate with other programs such as camps and school partnerships to support ballet training initiatives.

Professional Standards: Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to classes and uphold a high standard of professionalism and presentation.

Business Contribution: Support enrollment and retention efforts, optimize class capacity, and contribute to overall program growth.

Reporting Structure Reports to the Operations Manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong background in classical ballet, contemporary, modern, or cultural dance styles or relevant teaching certification
  • Minimum 3 years of teaching or coaching experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Safeguarding certification
  • First aid certification
  • Police clearance

Skills and Certifications:

  • Leadership and team management
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Excellent communication and parent interaction skills
  • Familiarity with MS Office and reporting tools
  • Ability to deliver structured and inspiring dance sessions

Programs You Will Lead

  • Recreational ballet classes
  • Intermediate and advanced training groups
  • Competition and performance teams

Performance Review

  • KPIs will be set and reviewed each term
  • Management will conduct periodic venue visits and quality assessments
