Ballet Instructor & Program Manager

JOB OVERVIEW

Absolute Ballet is seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Ballet Instructor & Program Coordinator to oversee the development and delivery of our ballet program. This role combines high-quality instruction with program leadership, including curriculum development, instructor support, student progression monitoring, and operational coordination.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining exceptional teaching standards, supporting student growth, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day management of the ballet department. This position is well suited to a professional who is dedicated to developing dancers in a structured, encouraging, and inspiring environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ballet Program Management: Oversee the daily operation of the ballet department, including class scheduling, instructor coordination, and program planning to ensure efficient delivery of all sessions.

Lesson & Curriculum Development: Create and maintain progressive lesson plans across various age groups and skill levels, emphasizing technique, artistry, confidence, and performance readiness.

Student Development & Assessment: Evaluate student progress on a regular basis, establish clear development goals, and provide meaningful feedback to students and their families.

Class Instruction: Deliver engaging ballet lessons that promote discipline, creativity, technical excellence, and a positive learning experience for participants of all levels.

Administration & Documentation: Maintain accurate attendance records, student evaluations, and program documentation while providing regular updates and reports to management.

Instructor Leadership: Support, mentor, and coordinate assistant and part-time instructors, ensuring consistency in teaching standards and effective communication within the team.

Safety & Child Welfare: Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times, administer basic first aid when necessary, and help maintain a safe environment for all participants.

Parent Communication: Build positive relationships with parents and guardians by providing timely information regarding student progress, schedules, performances, and academy activities.

Performances & Special Events: Coordinate recitals, showcases, and academy performances while preparing students for competitions and external events where applicable.

Collaboration Across Programs: Work closely with school partnerships, holiday camps, and community initiatives to support the growth and promotion of dance programs.

Professional Standards: Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to classes and uphold a high standard of professionalism and presentation.

Program Growth & Retention: Assist in promoting student enrollment, maintaining strong retention rates, and maximizing participation across all ballet programs.

Reporting Structure Reports to the Operations Manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Strong background in classical ballet, contemporary, modern, or cultural dance styles or relevant teaching certification
• Minimum 3 years of teaching or coaching experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Child Safeguarding certification
• First aid certification
• Police clearance

Skills and Certifications:

• Leadership and team management
• Strong organizational abilities
• Excellent communication and parent interaction skills
• Familiarity with MS Office and reporting tools
• Ability to deliver structured and inspiring dance sessions

Programs You Will Lead

• Recreational ballet classes

Performance Review

• KPIs will be set and reviewed each term
• Management will conduct periodic venue visits and quality assessments
