Bank Teller

Job Overview:

The Teller position plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service while performing a range of banking activities. Responsible for handling customer inquiries, processing transactions, and cross-selling bank products, the Teller ensures positive customer experience and contributes to the bank's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greeting customers warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming atmosphere in the bank branch
  • Provide courteous and professional service to customers, addressing their inquiries and processing transactions efficiently and accurately
  • Perform teller functions including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, stop payments, and selling bank products, adhering to established procedures
  • Open a variety of business and consumer accounts, assessing customer needs and recommending suitable account options
  • Assist customers with account-related tasks such as account closures, check orders, and change of address requests
  • Guide customers through setup process for Electronic Banking products such as Internet Banking, Cash Management, and ATM/Debit cards.
  • Complete necessary documentation related to banking transactions and customer interactions.
  • Resolve customer complaints and inquiries promptly and professionally, maintaining effective communication through phone or written correspondence
  • Assist with ATM functions such as processing transactions, cash replenishment, and balancing
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient branch operations and exceptional customer service delivery

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in community banking or a related field preferred
  • Knowledge of bank policies and procedures preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to the financial industry
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on building positive relationships
  • Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of desk work and computer use, as well as the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds for 100 feet.
  • Versatile and adaptable, we seek a candidate adept at embracing new banking technologies to enhance the customer experience
