Job Summary
Responsible for processing retail branch transaction and providing unparalleled service to our clientele.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Promote business for the bank by maintaining good customer relations and by referring customers to appropriate staff for new services.
- Meet quarterly cross selling goals as dictated by management.
- Complete bank sales training program.
- Become knowledgeable about all bank products and services; follows bank’s set policies.
- Assist with the training of new tellers utilizing a teller training check list.
- Accept and process retail and commercial checking and savings deposits; process courier and armored delivery transactions; work drive-up transactions.
- Accept loan payments and forward to loan department for processing.
- Cash checks and make savings withdrawals.
- Process official check requests, savings bonds, foreign items and transfers.
- Assist with night depository duties; ATM duties.
- Act as the Vault Teller for the branch.
- Maintain and balance a cash drawer, following all security guidelines.
- Responsible for transaction processing to include, but not limited to, initiate wires; call back of stop payments, address changes, block entries, wires and corrections; film work on imaging machine; file currency transaction reports and money instrument log when necessary; process verification of deposits; prepare weekly courier logs; certify end-of-month logs.
- Provide all services within banking depository compliance and regulatory guidelines; completes compliance testing as assigned.
- Answer incoming phone calls for customer questions and concerns of depository issues.
- Works under the general supervision of the Customer Service Manager with other projects and duties as needed; accepts assignments and other duties as assigned from Customer Service Manager.
- Reports directly to Customer Service Manager with extension to SVP/Retail Banking Manager for sales and service.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 1 year retail sales experience; cash handling experience preferred.
- Minimum 1 year teller banking experience.
- Good math skills.
- Above average communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and phone skills, with some experience.
- PC proficiency; basic knowledge of office equipment to include, but not limited to, encoder, fax machine, currency and coin counter, copier and calculator.
